Emily and Ralph had a sweet and intimate wedding early in the fall at Hotel Ella in Austin. The couple wanted to say their vows with with just their closest friends and family in attendance and with only 12 guests, they did just that. There is something so special about photographing intimate weddings and I feel honored to have been a part of it.
Their vision was to keep the colors classic with lots of greenery, peach and cream garden roses, and touches of blue. Emily’s mom helped her into the Devin gown by Theia – classic perfection! The dress, with its gorgeous bateau neckline and low back, was perfectly complemented by Emily’s simple bun and soft curls. She wore her grandmother’s earrings and finished her look with adorable dusty blue heels. The bride’s three sisters wore beautifully beaded blush dresses that tied in perfectly with the classic color scheme. Ralph wore a navy suit with touches of orange and blue to coordinate with his bride.
Emily and Ralph’s early-afternoon ceremony took steps on the steps of Hotel Ella, just under a majestic oak tree that grows on the grounds. This historic mansion in downtown Austin was built in 1900 and the Greek revival-style architecture was the perfect backdrop for their wonderfully simple affair. Emily and Ralph also made sure that their families had champagne during the ceremony so they could toast the couple at the end. It was such a lovely touch!
And of course, their sweet dog, Lucy, was the BEST ring bearer. She wore a flower collar and was the center of attention! After Emily and Ralph exchanged heartfelt vows, we took the first official family portrait of the new family of three.
Their private dinner took place upstairs on the expansive wrap-around porch that overlooks the gardens. They had a long table lined with draping greenery and used the bride’s bouquet as the main centerpiece. Olive branches and eucalyptus added a little fragrance and, paired with the candlelight, they had the perfect atmosphere for this intimate gathering. They told stories of how they met and laughed and toasted and shared smiles and happy tears for the rest of the evening!
Congratulations, Emily and Ralph!
