Amanda + Micheal
St. Rita Catholic Church | Gleneagles Country Club
Amanda and Michael are two people who have become near and dear to my heart over the last year and a half. We first met when Amanda reached out to me about shooting her wedding. She wasn’t sure of the date or location, but she booked me anyway! We did a lovely engagement shoot and I got to know the two of them a little better and as it turns out, Amanda even helped to take care of my baby girl when we were in the hospital where she worked! (Yes, she’s an actual angel). The year flew by and before you know it, their big day was here! I drove up to Dallas, Texas the day of their wedding and I was welcomed with open arms. Here’s where we start their story – getting ready with family and friends and a pair of gorgeous vintage earrings that have been in Amanda’s family for generations.
After everyone was dressed, we arrived at St. Rita Catholic Church for their ceremony. Amanda really wanted to exchange gifts but she didn’t want Michael to see her – so we blindfolded him. (He was a really good sport, by the way) They each gave each other beautiful tokens of love to wear during their ceremony. It was then that I learned they had actually met, and started dating, back in high school.
Once inside the church, it was time to put on the veil and say final prayers before their ceremony, which was filled with beautiful flowers, stained glass windows and lots of love from friends and family.
After the ceremony, we worked our way over to the reception venue – Gleneagles Country Club in Plano. We were surrounded by green grass, blooming flowers and lovely light. We even sneaked out to a closed part of the course to get some romantic photos of just the two of them.
The reception space was filled with lovely blush and white flowers and, of course, a beautiful cake!
Their gorgeous first dance was filled with spins (my personal favorite) and smiles and kicked off quite a party! Everyone was on the dance floor until time to go.
This hat was a major theme of the reception. Almost everyone wore it throughout the evening!
Amanda and Michael, I wish you all the best life has to offer. Your family and friends made me feel so welcome and for that I am grateful. Thank you for trusting me to be a part of this new beginning!
